Favorite Finds-Collar Boxes

Is there something you collect that you have 'a thing for'? Something so irresistible that it practically leaps right into your arms before you even really know it? A must have in other words. Well, I have 'a thing for' boxes, most recently collar boxes. To be honest they are new 'find' for me. How did I ever miss something so beautifully made?!
I am currently using one as a sewing kit and have had them displayed in my bookcase vignette. In the early 19th century, Men used the collar boxes as part of their luggage, a travel accessory case that held both the collar and cuffs.
It wasn’t hard for me to fall in love with the Bavent French faience animals; they have a certain quirky charm that just speaks to you. When you look at one of these glazed terracotta creatures—maybe a sweet little bunny ( my favorite ) or a proud goose—you can feel the history of the Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent in Normandy shining through
