Vintage French Enamel Lunch Box French Kitchen Decor, French Gamelle
The outside of this lovely early 20th century vintage French enamel lunch box is yellow and white speckled enamel and inside a cheerful turquoise and black. This traditional French Gamelle, one name for a lunch box or 'mess kit' measures 3.5" high x 5.5" wide x 3" deep. Originally there would have been an insert for this cute lunch box but sadly it was lost at some time before it came into my hands. The lid is held in place by the aluminium clips on the side which tighten when the handle is up. These lovely boxes could be used for storing almost anything, even pantry goods. It's in good used vintage condition with the expected signs of wear and tear which for the most part are scratches, scuffs and chips and rust including tarnishing of the metal on the body. There is one mend on the bottom (last photo) Br 2139
