I don’t often come across antique double portrait brooches like this one; they are wonderfully unusual. This beautiful double-oval Victorian brooch no longer contains the original photographs, which leaves two lovely openings for you to fill with favorite portraits or miniature works of art. Each oval frame is surrounded with delicate rope ornamentation that lends texture and period charm. A photograph pin such as this would originally have been given as a sentimental love token to a Victorian lady, serving as a romantic and elegant accessory to her wardrobe. The reverse shows a C-clasp and pin in keeping with the period construction. A truly stunning piece, circa late 1800s.
