Antique Bavent White Faience Rooster

$775.00
Only 1 available

This Bavent faience rooster is in very very good condition. He had a bit of a barnyard tussle so there is a tiny bit of damage to his comb clearly shown in the photos. Looking closely and you can see how exquisitely formed he is and what attention was paid to the detailed markings not to mention his lovely feathers and amber eyes! He is beautiful example of European country lifestyle and there’s something about this life size rooster I love, perhaps it is his stance. I know he will be the center of attention where ever you display him. Made at the Bavent Potterie in Mesnil de Bavent, Normandy France this ‘rough and ready’ rooster is an authentic piece of white tin glazed French faience from the late 1920’s.
Measurements: 22" tall x 16" wide ( chest to tail ) weight about 15+ pounds. -Ref. Bav8
