Antique St. Amand French Cafe au Lait Bowl, Authentic Country French Decor

$78.00

A beautiful St Amande semi-porcelain cafe au lait bowl with a semi-matte finish has a beautiful blue floral bouquet design, the Edmond pattern. Saint-Amand-les-Eaux lies in northern France, 13 km from Valenciennes. The environment was perfect for establishing an earthenware factory in 1705: there are rivers, roads to transport the material and the products, and forests providing wood for the ovens. Nicolas Desmoutiers establishes the first earthenware factory in Saint Amand, where he produced tin-glazed faience.
The bottom mark reads; Edmond Pattern, France, M L on either side of the windmill the mark of St Amande faience. The pictured French coffee bowl is in excellent condition, a perfect country decor accent for your farmhouse kitchen. Measuring 3-1/4" high x 5-3/4" wide. - Ref. Bol 213
