Hand Embroidered Antique French Linen Tea Towels Initials MB

37.00

These exceptional antique linen tea towels from the late 19th Century. These particular cloths have two red stripe patterns down their length on both sides and a finely cross-stitched monogram M.B. on the upper left side. Between the initials is a small embroidered diamond, just another lovely detail.
Monogramed tea towels are always a beautiful compliment to your country French decor.
These kinds of cloths were a common feature of French kitchens and become whiter and softer with every wash. They are of high quality, durability with a lovely drape. Because of these qualities they are still prized in France and they are getting harder to find.
This listing is for ONE exquisite towel. Size; 18" x 29"  -Ref. 76

Important to know-
It's common for these kinds of cloths to have small flaws and imperfections in the linen, metis or cotton fabric. Sometimes there are small discolorations or fold marks due to the age of some of the cloths however these have no obvious imperfections. All this is normal and it's a sign of their age and authenticity.
